Who we are
- “Ashkharazhokhov” belongs to all the Armenians living in and outside of Armenia equally. The movement opposes the division of Armenians on the grounds of religion, residence country, origin region or language of interpersonal communication.
- “Ashkharazhokhov” is a pro-Armenian movement serving Armenian people rather than foreign countries. We promote the Armenian interests inside Armenia and on the world stage.
- Movement’s ideology is based on the Armenian dream, a nationwide vision for the future that will allow the Armenians to realise their Mission by reviving a Greater Armenia.
- The mission moves forward only through love, generating national unity. The unity, in turn, gives people the force that leads Armenia to the victory and freedom. The ethics of intra-Armenian relations played a crucial role through the ages: when our relations are based on love, Armenian statehood, like a spring, breaks its way to the surface.
- We are all depending on each other, and together, united by our collective soul, become the Armenian nation. Therefore, the sins committed by individual Armenians impose a heavy burden on the entire nation, as they damage the Armenian nation’s collective soul.
The Armenian and his Armenian land
- The ethnonym “Armenian” is roughly translated to “Noble Man” and our state name, Armenia, means “Land of noble men”. First of all, the Armenian is a bearer of spiritual values. The Armenian genes can’t make person a proper Armenian. Language skills and Armenian parents also do not suffice to consider oneself an Armenian.
- The Armenian people are united by blood ties, belonging to the Armenian land and a common vision of the Armenian destiny, related to the rebirth of Armenia for the sake of historical and social justice.
- The main spiritual value of the Armenian nation is the Armenian land, granted to the nation within the framework of its Contract with God. Recognition of the Armenian land borders is the basis of Armenian morality.
- A land is the soil that lets a nation to reproduce itself for millenia. A land is a core to the Armenian identity. The land holds the material and spiritual heritage. Like a tree that grows in length and breadth solely on its own fertile soil, the Armenian people must live and breed in their homeland in order to maintain an invisible, but felt by the collective soul, connection to the land.
- The Armenian really becomes a master of the Armenian land when he ploughs and takes care of it. Therefore, the land has been and remains the main source of wealth for the people. The land is always more important than the capital, because the capital can be physically moved from one country to another, while the land cannot be loaded into a wagon and moved to a sheltered spot. The land is always more important than the labour, because the land can exist without the labour and even without people, and the labour, including intellectual labour, becomes meaningless, vulnerable and intangible unless it is tied to the land.
- Armenia starts from the Euphrates River in the west and terminates at the Kura River in the east. An Armenian who denies that all 15 provinces of Mets Hayk belong to Armenia has no moral right to be called an Armenian, for not accepting the soil means not accepting himself. Since a nation reproduces itself on this ground, continuing the thread from the past.
- Mount Ararat and Lake Van are more than national symbols. The Armenian civilization was based on these centers of power by Haik Naapet and his descendants. Every nation has its own centers of power that are blessed and bequeathed to it. Yes, Armenian children are born and grow up in the foreign lands, but a nation, being the engine of our civilization, is like a unique plant that can reveal its talents only in the Homeland. The civilization that was born on the shores of Van will be resurrected there!
- The cradle of our people is the Armenian Highland. It was given a sacred significance for mankind well before Noah’s Ark, as Eden, the Paradise Garden, a dwelling place for the first humans, was located there.
- Every Armenian or Armenian woman should remember that he or she is Armenia’s revival cornerstone. And this stone must be hewn to fulfil its destiny. If you are a teacher educating Armenian children, give them not only knowledge, but also your love for the Motherland, as knowledge is meaningless without it. If you are a warrior defending Armenia, be an example for your neighbour, teach him the skills you possess and tomorrow you will be united. If you are a farmer honestly producing bread for yourself and your neighbours, know that the Armenian dream belongs to the one who not only waters it with his blood, but also with his sweat. If you are a doctor healing people, remember: your hands bring closer that great day when all of us will lay a stone in the foundation of Armenia of our dream.
Armenia we are building
- “Ashkharazhokhov” aims to build a just society in Armenia, guaranteeing citizens equal access to education and health care regardless of their financial status or social background.
- The material goods and natural resources should be distributed by the state in favour of majority, not minority, of Armenian citizens in Armenian society. That is, the natural resources of the Armenian land, including plains, mountains, rivers, lakes, mines and deposits are the property of the Armenian people, delegating to “Ashkharazhokhov” the authority to distribute them fairly.
- The Armenian people should hold their destiny in their hands instead of relying on foreign powers. Every nation, like every individual, has its own destiny and purpose. The Armenian destiny is to gain freedom and independence through prevealing its own vices. The freedom and the independence are impossible without the ethics, based on the altruism. There is no freedom without love. And there is no people prosperity without freedom — the unfolding of its creative potential. The Armenian nation will serve as a beacon to the neighbouring nations only after its liberation.
- Armenia conducts its mutual relations with the other nations on an equal footing. No country has the right to impose its will upon Armenian people.
- Armenia should become a non-aligned state and proclaim its neutral status on the world stage. The movement opposes Armenia’s membership in any military-political blocs, whether CSTO or NATO. Because the world is much wider than Russia and Turkey. The world is much bigger than Russia and the West. Armenia should promote win-win cooperation with the East in order to balance our homeland’s ties with Russia, Turkey and the West.
- Armenia has to pursue a balanced foreign policy. It is impossible for Armenia to be a “buffer” state for Russia, Turkey or the West. It is fraught with constant wars. What is a “buffer state”? It is an entity serving as an outpost for the foreign interests. A buffer state is like the car’s bumper, the first to take the brunt of the collision with the car or other physical object. Armenian, remember: the “buffer” is always sacrificed!
- “Ashkharazhokhov” favors cooperation with specific countries in beneficial to Armenia directions in a certain period. Armenia’s dialogue with the East hasn’t ruled out the partnership with the West. Even quite the contrary, since Armenia belongs neither to the East nor to the West. With regard to the international cooperation, being the Armenian people’s property, Armenia may determine the key actors and the degree of interaction independently.
