We Share the Pain and Suffering of the Yezidis

The Pan-Armenian movement “Ashkharazhokhov” honors the memory of the victims of the Yezidi Genocide in Sinjar, Iraq.
“Ashkharazhokhov” demands that the UN and other international institutions conduct a fair and independent investigation into the causes of this atrocity to hold all perpetrators accountable.
The genocide committed by ISIS terrorists on August 3, 2014, in the Iraqi city of Sinjar is a crime against humanity. On this tragic day and every day thereafter, members of “Ashkharazhokhov” share the pain and suffering of the Yezidis. However, words of solidarity are not enough.
While the international community continues to call for the protection of Yezidi rights, the restoration of their lands, and the punishment of the guilty, the full revival of the Yezidi community remains uncertain without guarantees of security and stability in the region.
“Ashkharazhokhov” urges Yezidis to unite with the Armenian people in building a new, strong, and prosperous Armenia that will protect our peoples from such tragedies and upheavals.
According to UN estimates, up to 10,000 Yezidis were killed. More than 6,000 women and children became victims of sexual violence, forced marriages, and slavery. The terrorists also destroyed Yezidi holy sites, including the Sharfadin Temple in Sinjar. Approximately 200,000 Yezidis were displaced, many of whom still live in refugee camps in Iraqi Kurdistan.
