We Condemn the Criminal Collusion Between Yerevan and the Baku Regime

November 7, 2024

The Baku fascists continue demanding changes to Armenia’s Constitution in exchange for a “peace agreement,” seeking to legitimize their decades-long occupation of Artsakh, Utik, Nakhichevan, and other Armenian lands. Aliyev and his handlers are so consumed by fear that they already dread a potential revision of the “peace” with Yerevan – even before the occupiers have signed it.

“If we leave Armenia’s current Constitution unchanged or disregard it, this means that even if we sign a peace agreement, a new government could come and annul it, because this document technically contradicts the existing constitution,” claims a representative of the regime.

Meanwhile, Aliyev and his clique are convinced that “a peace agreement with Armenia will make any future revanchism or territorial claims against Azerbaijan impossible”.

The “Ashkharazhokhov” movement resolutely condemns any attempts by Baku and other capitals to impose new constitutional provisions on Armenians. Only the Armenian people have the right to adopt or reject their state-founding document.

We deem the negotiations between Yerevan and Baku on this and other topics criminal, especially while Armenian political prisoners, soldiers, and civilians remain captive in the prisons of so-called Azerbaijan. If the Baku regime wants peace, it must release all Armenian captives. If Aliyev and his clique refuse to free our people, it means they do not seek peace at all.

Moreover, since 2020, the Aliyev regime has kept its land borders closed to neighboring countries to prevent conscription-age men from fleeing. This proves that the Baku fascists still view military escalation as their primary method for resolving territorial disputes with Armenia.

The Armenian government must cease all negotiations with Baku until all Armenian prisoners are fully liberated!
